It’s fun to think of the city we live in as a concrete jungle. But stop for a minute and think about the jungle part. Living among all those man-made structures, are hundreds of plants and creatures, waiting to be discovered.
Time for a trip to the park for a nature walk
Ask your parents about the things you find along the way. They can also help create an activity sheet to track wildlife activity with hints and clues about what you might discover.
The adventure starts right outside your front door, with the creatures that live on your doorstep!
- Draw or write down or even collect the things you spot.
- If you have a digital camera, snap pics of all the different insects, plants and animals to stick on your activity sheet when you get home. What a great way to learn about animals!
- Next time try to explore a different route to the park and compare your findings.
