There’s nothing quite like taking a delicious bite out of an indoor herb garden that you grew yourself. And the best part? You don’t even need a big garden or a fancy indoor garden kit to get started. Urban gardening is loads of fun!
With a little creativity and the right materials, you can become a green-fingered gardener in no time with these great small garden ideas:
- First off, find yourself a container – it can be long, short or any other shape. But remember, the bigger the better and it needs drainage holes. If it doesn’t have any, check that you’re able to make a few.
- Then line your container with polythene, poke some holes in it and fill it with compost – don’t worry about getting muddy, it’s all part of the fun. Or just add drainage holes to the compost bag and put it straight into the container!
- Finally, follow the directions for planting on the back of the seed packets and keep your seeds watered.
Pretty soon, you should have something tasty to tuck into. So, give growing vegetables in pots a go and see how you get on. The more you practice, the better you’ll get at growing and cropping your own veggies.
Tip: The smaller the space, the smaller the seeds you’ll need to get – like tiny tomatoes and carrots. Leave the pumpkins to those with farm-size gardens!
