make a mud cano

“We always knew we’d had a good time if we came home with muddy knees and grass stains.”

- Richard Derrig

Kids love getting crafty, especially when there’s mud involved. Using the good old baking soda and vinegar trick, this outdoorsy volcano craft is lots of fun - especially when it erupts!

  • How do we make it?

    • You’ll need 2 tbsp of baking soda, vinegar and a stick.

    • Find a clear, safe space in the garden with plenty of earth.

    • Using your hands, build a muddy mound about 20-30 centimeters high.

    • Make the ‘crater’ of your volcano by digging a hole in the top with your stick.

    • Put the baking soda in the crater and slowly pour the vinegar on top.

    • Step back and get ready…

    • Watch as your volcano erupts!
