Child playing with bubbles

How can I catch the breeze?

Don’t let wind keep your kids from playing outdoors. Give them lengths of ribbon or streamers to take outside on a windy day. Let them explore the effects of the wind.

Up the challenge by using the poem ‘Wind’ by Andrew Collett, as a starting point. Kids can explore the wind using the ribbons/streamers and then write their own version of the poem.

You could also teach them about the force of wind and how this can be both destructive and useful through wind power to create energy.
